If you are a goddess, or aspire to be one...

All of you know this but I'll repeat it because I'm dramatic: I absolutely love all things-eye makeup. So Eye of Horus sounded just delicious and I was floating when I received my package, and boy, did it stand up to my very high standards!
I also am a sucker for one liners, so I was already stirred with Eye of Horus' tagline
'Awaken the goddess within!'
Oh, and who isn't crazy about all things, Egyptian?

The Who:

Representing regeneration, health and protection the ancient Egyptian Symbol of the Eye of Horus ensures healing, wisdom and prosperity to its bearer.
Eye of Horus Mascara uses natural ingredients in the style of the ancient Egyptians to deliver cosmetic products that are affordable, non-irritating and effective.
Eye of Horus guarantees you unsurpassed quality and integrity in our products. We offer a 100% money back guarantee of complete customer satisfaction.
Right off the bat, I will also highlight that EOH is cruelty free (both products AND ingredients, which is saying a lot and makes me love the company that much more) and that there is a 100% money back because the products are very very strong in terms of quality. They also wrote me a handwritten note and the package was both informative and very personalized, so kudos, EOH girls!

Charcoal obsidian goddess pencil

Awaken your sensual goddess within with subtle shimmer. Seriously Smokey and sensational.
Obsidian Grey elusively defines and expands the look of your eyes without stark or heavy definition
Ω Sensational for Day wear, very fair, and mature eyes
Ω Creamy rich formula that’s easy to apply, waterproof, smudge-proof and long-lasting
Ω Resists oil and perspiration with no fading

Me think: I love everything about this eyeliner pencil: It must be said that most eyeliner pencils do not even show on my brown Indian skin, so I was unsure about how this pencil would show on my eyes. But it turned out to be extremely easy to apply with a lovely beautiful glide-able ability for my shaky hands! Also, the other end of the pencil has a smudger which is just perfect. It must be noted that these pencils have a special sharpener but hey, I treat it as a one time (extremely affordable) investment and this is because the pencils include soft waxes and oils which manifest amazingly well on my skin.
It is also water proof - I did the test for my readers' benefit, so for the memory before winter kicks in, I tried this eyeliner pencil and then took a dip at our apartment pool for a good hour. And guess what? It's waterproof!
It also lasted the typical work shift that I'm accustomed to, of around 8 hours. I've never found the need to keep on makeup for more than that, so I'm sold!

Bronze amulet goddess pencil

Me think: I absolutely loved the beautiful glide, the color of this pencil (truly goddess like) and exactly like the previous eyeliner, comes with a smudger and is beautifully metallic and most perfect in every way! It is also very kind to the waterline and does not require repeat application in anyway. And yes, with all EOH products, they have been most most good to my contact lenses wearing.

The rest of the products came in a package with a mesh makeup bag! My absolute essentials and it has found a permanent place in my work backpack!

Natural mascara

Ideal for sensitive eyes Eye of Horus Mascara strengthens and lengthens for ultimate Goddess lashes

Naturally formulated in the style of the ancient Egyptians with plant based ingredients and Waxes including:
  • Carnauba wax
  • Beeswax
  • Rice Bran wax
  • Candelilla wax

Benefits:

  • Flexible brush glides with lashes and curls
  • Wont irritate eyes or sting
  • Easily removable; use warm water to melt and dissolve waxes
  • Coats lashes evenly
  • Assist in lash growth
  • Natural formula wont clump or clog
  • Conditions and strengthens lash structure
  • Treatment that cares for your lashes

Me think: I was never a mascara person, most of the ones I tried were either smudgy or clumpy or just plain wrong. But the EOH natural mascara is not only natural, it has such a lot of healthy waxes inside it and coats perfectly well on my eyelashes. I will definitely use it overtime and report back on the improvement to my lashes, but for now, it looks amazing and because of my shaky hands, when I make a mistake, it was easily removable with the suggested warm water! It also has a flexible brush which seems to work its magic on my unscientific uncoordinated eyelashes :)

Liquid define liner

Liquid Define Eye Liner is an amazingly easy to use liquid "texta" that draws a gorgeous black line on your lid, allowing for perfect definition.
Dries almost instantly and won’t imprint on eye lids. Stays on all day or night.
Me think: This liquid eyeliner (yet another myth that EOH breaks for me) is excellent easy to apply and is opaque black and pigmented (which for me, is just purrrrrr-fect!) I am usually wary of liquid eyeliners because of the aforementioned shaky hands and I usually draw more waves than I do lines, but this was easy to apply and worked like a charm on my skin! For my needs, this is probably one of the best liquid eyeliners I have ever tested! Oh, and to add, as with all other EOH products, it was very kind to mistakes and is easy to get rid of, without smudging.

Natural Smokey eye pencil

I am Indian so this pencil can be equated to my local kohl pencils with a beautiful smokey effect. Just as with other pencils from this brand, this pencil is 100% water proof (and perspiration proof!) and is easy to apply and use!

It also comes with a smudger on the other end, is just as natural and helps me with my favorite look of all time: a smokey eye look!

EOH pencil sharpener

What can I say? Comes with the beautiful EOH logo on it. And.
It works :)

Overall, I have an excellent feeling about this company. A very very very good feeling. The staff is thoughtful, efficient, magical and the products showcase exactly the same traits (and more!)
Their website is also very neat!

Visit Eye Of Horus and awaken your inner goddess!

  1. Hi there I am also Indian and an EOH fan, although I usually stick to the black liner and mascara. What did you think of the bronze and charcoal on Indian skin? Did you use eyeshadow? Which shade do you prefer? Thanks heaps!

  2. I haven't used EOH eye shadow, if that's what you were asking, but I thought they didn't have any :)

I stick to the charcoal and it works brilliantly on my skin. Bronze works on my skin though I use it on occasion only. With charcoal, I've paired it with violets and they show quite well.

Let me know if this helped or if you have other questions :)

  3. Thank you :) I meant eye shadow in general, I tend not to use any make up then eyeliner and mascara and was wondering if the bronze or charcoal liner would look strange without eyeshadow to accompany it.

  4. Oh. I feel the same way. my basic makeup is really eyeliner and mascara (and even mascara is mostly optional) and the charcoal works totally fine alone. I haven't tried the bronze without any accompaniment (it's always been used with eyeshadow, but I can try and let you know :))
