The What:
A chic, cylinder shaped cosmetic bag with a small mirror for easy touch-ups.
I absolutely loved and still rave about the black geometric patterns and the very thoughtful mirror in the corner of the bag. Its outsides are as thoughtful as the insides, the insides are lined with a soft pretty silver fabric. It's one of the sturdiest makeup bags I possess (and I possess a lot of them,) and the color choice makes it an excellent classic bag to keep at work or for a vacation. It has quickly and seamlessly progressed to one of my absolute favorite makeup bag.
Afpha Hydroz AHA souffle soothing anti-wrinkle
I'm absolutely convinced, the older I get, that one must take absolute and sacred care of one's face and body routine. So this was a natural choice in my set of products.
The What: Creamy, smooth and luxurious, Alpha Hydrox AHA Souffle Soothing Anti-Wrinkle enveloped our skin in rich moisture while the glycolic acid and peptides worked on our fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet.
Me Think: My skin is sensitive so I was afraid of what this product would do, given its high AHA concentration, however, I am most happy to report that I used it for a couple of days in a row incorporated in my skin care routine and it tingled a little but it seemed to improve my skin every morning. It has definitely helped to improve my radiance and looks like a product with great potential!
It helped that the product came in a beautiful glazed container, always something to be said for a product that knows how to package an amazing product.
Chocolate Milk Body Creme by Philip B
The What: This luxurious, delectable body lotion from Philip B. Chocolate Milk Body Creme is infused with cocoa butter, safflower seed oil and extracts of chocolate and vanilla, which produce rich nourishment that softens your skin and lifts your mind.
Me Think: This was an easy pick from the variety of products, I remember, one of my earliest picks from the list. Chocolate creme and Philip B, that was a no-brainer. The smell after I took it out of the tube did seem a bit off the mark, a little different from how it was whilst in the tube, but hey, a body creme really just needs to do what it does best: Moisturize! And it did, it did an excellent job leaving me feeling fresh and soft and silky. I wouldn't buy it again in a hurry, but I'm not throwing out the tube, it works too well for that.
Sparitual Instinctual Organic Moisturizing Lotion
The What: Instinctual Organic Moisturizing Lotion - Made with 83% certified organic ingredients, this lotion deeply nourishes and hydrates dry skin. Organic Ginger Essential Oil balances the root chakra to energize the mind and body. Organic Aloe Vera and organic Olive, Sesame and Soybean Oils soothe, nourish and treat the skin while Avocado and organic Shea Butters help retain moisture and protect skin.
This is hands down one of my favorite products from the kit. It smelled just perfect, it wasn't a bath time product for me, but easily, a work skin care product, to take a squirt of, every now and then. It smelled amazing and worked well, it left my skin moisturized and soft.
And hey, anything organic is the way of the future. A most definitely win!
Belli Skin Care All Day Moisture Body Lotion
The What: Belli Skin Care All Day Moisture Body Lotion is a subtle, citrus-scented body lotion for expectant and nursing mothers, helping skin stay moisturized and relieved from dryness. Formulated with shea butter, chamomile and lemon oil, this superior soothing formula absorbs quickly without greasy residue. Free of phthalates.
Me Think: This is another fragrant smell: has just the right citrusy tone and smelled just perfect for a vacation body care product or just a good easy way to liften the spirit. It's an excellent clean fresh smell and it absorbed quickly into my skin after my shower. For my dry skin, I did require a re-application, but hey, I'm not complaining! :)
SkinMedica Environmental Defense Sunscreen
The What: This sunscreen provides UV defense and protection from environmental pollutants, while moisturizing your skin. Gentle enough for skin conditions, post-procedure skin and extended sun exposure, this sunscreen works to keep the skin healthy and hydrated. Hyaluronic acid, caffeine and green tea extract nourish and moisturize the skin while antioxidants fight against premature aging.
Me Think: This was another no breather, with SPF30+. I loved that it was easy to use this under my make-up on a casual day at the beach and the best-est part was that it didn't leave a cakey surface on my skin. I absolutely and whole heartedly recommend this product, I'd pick it up again any day!
Phytomer Hydracontinue Moisturizing Body Milk
The What: This body milk soothes, repairs and deeply hydrates the skin on contact, using a unique formula that includes Pheohydrane, a natural element that helps maintain skin's natural hydrating functions. Silky and satiny, its fresh, clean scent drapes the body in a rich, yet subtle veil of comforting moisture. The skin is left looking fresh, luminous and smooth.
Me Think: Yet another pleasant clean fresh smell and a beautiful beautiful product from Phytomer, this did not disappoint. It absorbed quickly and efficiently and left my skin smooth and supple.
Create Smooth AntiFrizz Volume Serum
An alcohol-free, anti-frizz volumizing serum, especially good for either curly, unruly hair needing to be smoothed down or thin, uncontrollable hair needing body & control.
"Static electricity, flyaways, frizz. I use this serum to prevent all three problems. Also creates superb volume & movement in the process.
Me Think: Here's the best part: It doesn't weigh my hair down, so I was thoroughly pleased to be using this serum on my hair because who cannot benefit from a toning down of unruly hair like mine :)
An absolute bonus to my daily hair routine!
Raw Natural Beauty All-Over Eye Shadow Brush
The What: The Raw Natural Beauty All-Over Eye Shadow Brush is specially designed to apply and layer color for an even, smooth finish. The soft, rounded head fits perfectly into the contours of the lid, creating a wash of color for ideal coverage and finish.
Me Think: This was a bold move, deciding to pick the shadow brush, not sure I would like it, but I did! It was a soft bristled brush and ensured that eye shadow was applied consistently and efficiently over my eyes. No complaints about this one!
Overall, a brilliant set of products decided by a panel and facilitated by BeautyFix, there is a lot of reassurance to be said for a company that gives the member a variety of beauty product choices, puts together a panel in place to test the products and give their recommendations and thoughts about the product and for the ability to customize the beauty experience to oneself or to a loved one. Also note that these products are always deluxe or full size products, so $49.99 is a steal! (Most people say that there are beautybox subscriptions for $10.00 but I'd argue that for this price and for the product sizes, you're not going to find a deal like this one.
I also love and admire the fact that they have portions which explain the brand's summary, the panelists' thoughts, application technique and customer reviews. What more does one need to make an informed decision?
