Manna Organics acquired the bread division from Nature’s Path Manna Bread and like Nature’s Path, is an independent family enterprise dedicated to bettering the world we all share. Manna Bread is a type of bread that is made by sprouting grains based on old scripture recipe. It is a remarkably simple and wholesome bread, made entirely from sprouted organic grains, seeds, fruits and nuts. It contains no salt, leavening, yeast, oil, or sweeteners. As Manna Organicsexplains “by fully germinating our grains, we convert the starches into easily digested natural complex sugars, similar to those found in fresh fruits, hence the sweetness.” To make the bread, the sprouts are ground and hand-shaped into loaves, baked at a low temperature, then packed and frozen to preserve shelf life, without any chemical additives.
Manna Bread comes in 9 flavors, which are as follows:
Banana Walnut Hemp, Carrot Raisin, Cinnamon Date, Fig Fennel Flax, Fruit & Nut, Millet Rice, Multigrain, Sunseeed, Whole Rye – and 3 flavors of Bavarian Sourdough Breads: Bavarian Whole Rye Sourdough, Sunny Sourdough and Multigrain Flax Sourdough.
I absolutely loved trying out Manna Bread, it was moist and is definitely a healthy amazing alternative to my crazed obsession for white bread. I served it as a yummy slice after dinner and the husband and dad loved it.
While many people may complain about its price, I will have to argue that nutritionally, it is definitely superior and more filling than regular bread. More quality over quantity I believe, and this is a clear example of a bread done well. It can be bought at Whole Foods or other independent health food stores nationwide and in Canada or can be ordered online at mannaorganicbakery.com
I also loved the fact that the bread was packaged in a reusable plastic bag.
Overall, a product line done well to fill a gap that our very fake unhealthy bread choices have made us ignore. Give it a try and be amazed!
PS: This is family owned and operated. Nothing's ever gone wrong that way.
