BzzJono asked me...

... to share the recipe and thanks to the generosity of my heart, I won't deny him that. So here goes: PS: I'm not going to list a list of ingredients cos I can never remember.
Anyway.
Rice: Refer previous blog post. I wish I could make roti/chapati with gobi mattar (which is the recipe I'm writing) but ah, that's something I haven't perfected yet and it depresses me to make low quality items so I stick to rice, which I don't really prefer over chapati but ah, well. Personal battles. Anyway.
Gobi Mattar Recipe (for two very hungry adults)
Step 1: Put generous helpings of Filippo Berio Olive oil
Step 2: When hot, add mustard and cumin/jeera
Step 3: Add curry leaves (two stalks?) and chilly (three)
Step 4: Add ginger and garlic (three cloves of garlic and a fat medium size piece of ginger, both 'grated.' Yes, the simplest way rather than chopping and adding your blood to food :O)
Step 5. When moderately cooked, add chopped onions (one large)
Step 6. When golden brown (I literally watched an entire youtube video while waiting, cos I'm not one for patience, so I might as well do something instead of ruining the dish,) add diced tomatoes (one large)
Step 7. Once mashed and juicy, add spices. 1/2 tbspn of chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and newly discovered garam masala (found in ANY indian grocery.)
Step 8: Now the flavor will hit you. If it doesn't, you might as well give up. If it does smell great, add chopped cauliflowers (gobi). As much or as little as you want, at least enough to be seen in between the paste you've already created.
Step 9: Add water, stir and cover with lid.
Step 10: Watch three youtube videos before you open the lid. The cauliflower should be tender, if not, watch another video and keep doing until the cauliflower is tender and you can cut it easily with your spoon.
Step 11: Add peas (mattar) and add salt to taste (I add it, taste it, keep adding until I'm satisfied)
Step 12: Put lid back on, watch a video or two. Ask your husband or anyone at home to taste it. If they start purring, you're done.
Step 13: Add freshly chopped coriander leaves for the heck of it. Voila! PS: I received a Filippo Berio olive oil bottle as part of my BzzAgent kit and I'm positively certain that I will need many many many many many more bottles of it. This is my true and most sincere and honest opinion. Happy cooking, y'all!
